Pioneers fully sustained in their positions

in MyBlog Adventist History by Adrian Ebens
I was reading in Testimonies volume 3 regarding Laodicea and came across the following. God leads His people on step by step. The Christian life is a constant battle and a march. There is no rest from the warfare. It is by constant, unceasing effort that we maintain the victory over the temptations of Satan. As a people we are…

Pray for Those Who Hurt Us

Let us strive to walk in the light as Christ is in the light. The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed, not only for himself, but for those who were opposing him. When he felt earnestly desirous that the souls that had trespassed against him might be helped, he himself received help. Let us pray, not only…

Why I Remain Part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church

I have very fond memories of reading through the sermons from A.T Jones from the General Conference Bulletin of 1895. When reading these lecturers, it was brought to my mind that Christ is very close to us and has fully identified Himself with me as a man. One of the best memories I have was reading sermon no. 15 where…

1Jo 5:12  He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

“The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ; it is His representative. Here is the divine agency that carries conviction to hearts.” 13MR 313

“This name was not given to Christ in consequence of some great achievement, but it is His by right of inheritance.  Speaking of the power and greatness of Christ, the writer to the Hebrews says that He is made so much better than the angels, because “He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.” Heb. 1:4. A son always rightfully takes the name of the father; and Christ, as “the only begotten Son of God,” has rightfully the same name. A son, also, is, to a greater or less degree, a reproduction of the father; he has to some extent the features and personal characteristics of his father; not perfectly, because there is no perfect reproduction among mankind. But there is no imperfection in God, or in any of His works, and so Christ is the “express image” of the Father’s person. Heb. 1:3. As the Son of the self- existent God, He has by nature all the attributes of Deity. - E.J Waggoner, Christ and His Righteousness 11,12
